Advertise Property in Southampton

Studentpad and SASSH Studentpad offer agents/landlords the quickest and most cost effective method of advertising their property(ies) for let in and around Southampton. Studentpad helps around 1 million students search for accommodation each year. Take the first step to finding your new tenants today.

Studentpad works very closely with Solent University and as such you need to join The Solent University Scheme (see below for details) to be able to advertise on the web site. The Solent University solely use the studentpad software to advertise your properties. In turn, all of the students are referred to The Solent University website and it is therefore very successful for registered landlords.

Photographs

Although not compulsory, photographs do make a huge difference to your advert. This is what one of our customers commented; "many people remarked on the photographs, saying how helpful it was to be able to see photos. Perhaps you could encourage landlords to enclose photos - it's certainly to their advantage"

Tenancy Agreements

Landlord requiring Tenancy Agreements can contact the Accommodation Office at Solent University or Accommodation Service at the University of Southampton using the address at the bottom of this page.

Letting Agents Note:

Any letting agent who is advertising a property on the behalf of a landlord will need to obtain consent from the landlord that clearly indicates he/she has agreed for the property to be advertised on SASSH if required. The contract between Agent and landlord must be that of a fully managed contract. For purposes of the scheme, all responsibility for the accuracy of any advertisement and the standard of any property advertised will it with the Managing Agent.

Scale of Charges

HMO Licence Fees with effect from 1st April 2010

The HMO licence fees have recently been reviewed, consulted on and a new fee structure for 2010/11 agreed. This comes into force on 1st April 2010. Any applications for newly licensable properties made on or after 1st April 2010 will pay the new fees. Applications made before 1st April 2010 will pay the 2009/10 licence fees.

Background

Following representation from local landlords, the council has revised the way in which HMO licence fees are calculated and has used a national template developed by the Local Government Association (LGA). This is a more transparent and consistent way of calculating the fees. The proposed fees were subject to public consultation and comments received have been taken into consideration in developing the final structure and policy.
